EcoLeague Greens up the Web
EcoLeauge is an environmental initiative started by Learning for Sustainable Futures. It challenges and motivates elementary students to engage in inspiring and rewarding community and school based action projects that focus on environmental issues that directly affect them. EcoLeague assists teachers in meeting curriculum expectations through highly engaging and environmentally focused learning activities. EcoLeague engages community organizations and volunteers to work with schools in understanding the issues and supporting their action projects.
A key component of the EcoLeague is the website created by kroworks. The EcoLeague site acts as a portal to activities of the initiative, allowing students engaged in it to communicate amongst themselves through a bulletin board, upload videos and photos, measure their ecological footprint (and track its progress) and report directly back to the EcoLeague staff. In addition to the facilities for students, the site offers instant information on the various projects interested viewers might want to partake in, forums for teachers and administrators, strict policing measures and is available in French and English.
