This booklet came out of a workshop in Ghana held at the end of the Child Mobility Project, which brought together young researchers from Ghana, Malawi and South Africa to share their experiences of rural transport. It was the young researchers’ own idea: they wanted a way to share what they had learned with a wider public, and most of the text was written by them in their own words, with support from adult facilitators.
I was brought in to illustrate the booklet, drawing on the children’s experiences and backgrounds so that the artwork would reflect the lives and settings they described.
